Hot Sauce Brings Cold Cash

By Stephen Bucaro

On a trip to New Mexico, Mary Going tried some food
flavored with hot salsa. She fell in love with hot salsa
and anything made with chili peppers. But chili peppers
are scarce in Portland Maine where Mary worked for a
computer company, so she bought some seeds and grew her
own chili peppers.

Mary cooked up her own hot sauces and put them on almost
everything she ate. She created a website to share her
gardening tips and chili pepper recipes. People quickly
found the website and began sending Mary samples of their
own homemade sauces.

The website took off as people began seeking Mary's advice
and product recommendations. She located a distributor of
hot sauce products and began taking orders from her
website. Mary made $88,000.00 the first year.

She decided to cut out the distributor and opened a
warehouse of her own, stocking it with 800 different hot
sauces. Mary takes orders, packages and ships products,
and does everything herself. It's a lot of work, but she
expects to make $200,000.00 this year.

Mary's website, http://www.firegirl.com rates hot sauces
on a scale from 1 to 10 with some sauces being off the
scale hot at 10+++++. You can purchase hot sauce gift
certificates that will be sent immediately by email, or
you can buy a gift hot sauces collection. Her site also
features many other products like candy, nuts, and jelly.

Visit Mary's website and you will find hundreds of
varieties of hot sauce. That's a lot of hot sauce. And as
Mary Going has learned, hot sauce can bring you a lot of
cold cash!
